I think Spector is probably right...Bush used veto power for the first time just last week so he has probably tinkered with some bills.

"Bush has challenged about 750 statutes passed by Congress, according to numbers compiled by Specter's committee. The ABA estimated Bush has issued signing statements on more than 800 statutes, more than all other presidents combined."
"Bush has issued at least 750 signing statements during his presidency, reserving the right to revise, interpret or disregard laws on national security and constitutional grounds." MMMMM I'm thinking you should have read the story. Republicans leaving a sinking ship?

Specter has never really been a Republican. He is about as much Republican as Joe Lieberman is Democrat. You could trade off Lieberman and Zell Miller for Specter and John McCain and you would just be treading water...six of one, half a dozen of the other.

Hmmm...just quoting the press. What happened to the "one time veto?"
